This San Mateo residence received a comprehensive kitchen and bathroom renovation. The homeowners wanted a bright, modern kitchen anchored by a bold design statement. Gray shaker cabinetry with brushed nickel hardware lines the perimeter, while a navy blue center island with integrated open shelving creates a striking focal point beneath a new skylight.
Marble-look quartz countertops and a full-height backsplash behind the cooktop unify the space, complemented by a Samsung French-door refrigerator and LG double wall oven. Wide plank hardwood flooring and French doors to the backyard complete the open-concept transformation.

The bathroom was completely reimagined around a curbless walk-in shower with full-height marble-look tile, dual recessed niches, and a blue glass accent stripe that wraps the entire enclosure. A hexagonal mosaic tile floor adds texture and visual interest at ground level.
A gray shaker vanity with brushed nickel hardware matches the kitchen's material palette, topped with a white quartz countertop and single-handle faucet. An LED-backlit medicine cabinet mirror and a wall-mounted toilet with a matte black dual-flush plate maximize the compact footprint while keeping the design sharp and modern.
